Laurie Gill is a Republican candidate for South Dakota House District 24, covering Haakon, Hughes, Hyde, Stanley, and Sully counties. She served three terms as Mayor of Pierre (2008–2017), nine years on the Pierre City Commission (1999–2008), and held multiple state cabinet positions including Secretary of Human Services, Commissioner of the Bureau of Human Resources, and Secretary of the Department of Social Services (2019–2023). She is running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Will Mortenson.
