Why they’re
Sensible
Peterson is exactly the kind of legislator rural communities need: a working producer who lives the consequences of agricultural and property-tax policy rather than just voting on them. His work chairing the Property Tax Assessment study committee shows initiative on one of the most pressing pocketbook issues facing South Dakota families and farmers. He has supported broad-based tax relief while guarding against burden-shifting to agriculture — a nuanced position that reflects genuine policy understanding. Sensible South Dakota values his practical, constituent-first approach to the legislature.
