
Dick Werner
Dick Werner was born in Mobridge and raised on the family farm near Herreid, where he graduated from Herreid High School before earning a business administration degree from the University of South Dakota. He spent 24 years in banking, managing banks in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana, then became co-owner of a power line construction company. A former state representative for District 22 (2013–2017), Werner has devoted the past decade to community development as volunteer president of Herreid Area Housing Development, securing $2.2 million in grants for new housing.
