Why they’re
Sensible
David Johnson is a seasoned Rapid City legislator with deep roots in constitutional conservatism, veterans advocacy, and limited government. He has a strong record of cutting red tape — helping repeal over 60 state laws — while championing Black Hills forest management, drone privacy protections, and pro-life causes. His NRA "A" rating and six years on the Veterans Affairs Committee reflect durable commitments over multiple terms. Running again for District 33 in 2026, he brings legislative experience few challengers can match.
Key positions
“I'm ready to return to Pierre to continue my successful record representing SD's families, protecting individual and private property rights, and sustaining the rational, effective, conservative policies that make South Dakota the best place in America to call home.”
